Lyn Nagel has been a professional performer since the age of 9. She caught the “theatre bug” at a very early age and has been performing on stage, the silver screen, television, and radio for most of her life. Lyn made her Broadway Debut in the Tony Award-Winning 1994 Revival of “Carousel” at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre in Lincoln Center at the age of 10. Through this production, Lyn had the amazing opportunity to perform with some of the most talented performers in the industry, including: Audra McDonald, Brian D’Arcy James, Fisher Stevens, James Barbour, and Taye Diggs.
After her Broadway Debut, Lyn continued to add to her professional credits by performing on television in “Ed” and “Guiding Light”, and by getting a featured spot in the Sundance Film Festival Award-Winning film “Joe the King”. She has been working very steadily in radio since she was a teenager, having done various national radio commercials for products such as Skittles and Starburst. She has also been the “on hold” voice of Sierra at Tahoe Ski Resort for the past 10 years! After college, Lyn was asked to be in the first professional production of a new musical called “I Married Wyatt Earp” with the Bristol Riverside Theatre in Pennsylvania.
Lyn graduated magna cum laude from the Hartt School of Music as a musical theatre performance major. After Hartt, Lyn decided to get her music teaching certification from the ARC Program through the CT State Department of Education. Ms. Nagel has been teaching in the private, public, and catholic school settings for the past 10 years. Currently, Lyn teaches private voice and piano lessons to students of all ages.
Along with being involved in the New York City performance world, Lyn is also heavily involved in the performing arts and singing world around her hometown in Connecticut. She has performed with the Warner Theatre Stage Company, Musicals at Richter, the Waterbury Chorale, the Connecticut Master Chorale, and Gateway’s Candlewood Playhouse. Ms. Nagel is also the musical director for St. Joan of Arc Church in Hamden, CT.
